Participants of this interactive course will have the opportunity to advance their biosafety knowledge in such areas as Viral Vectors, CRISPR, Prion and general risk assessment, protective measures, facility design and equipment requirements and governmental regulations in both research and diagnostic laboratory settings. The course content has been developed and will be delivered by a diverse panel of experts in the field of biosafety including University of Toronto Institutional Biosafety Committee’s subject matter experts and provincial and federal regulators.

Participation in the Principles and Practices of Biorisk Management course is relevant for both participants who are new to the field as well as those who wish to augment their current knowledge of biosafety as practiced in their professional duties.

At the end of the course each participant will be able to:

    • Develop essential components of a Biosafety Program
    • Apply comprehensive knowledge of field components including how to identify, describe and categorize biological materials and the risks associated with their use and participate in the development of risk mitigation strategies
    • Access a multitude of biosafety resources
    • Participate in biosafety networking

$2,500 for full 5-day course
