Respiratory Viruses (Flu, RSV, COVID-19, Measles) and Gastrointestinal Viruses (Norovirus)
Updated Nov. 12, 2025
Everyone has a role to play to reduce the spread of respiratory viruses and other viruses. Stay home if you are sick. You can return to campus when: 1) symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours if you had nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea); 2) you do not have a fever for 24 hours. Mask are not generally required on-campus but should be worn if you have been sick for 10 days after your symptoms start. For additional information, please visit: Procedures for Communicable Diseases.
The University continues to encourage all UofT community members and visitors to stay up-to-date on all applicable vaccinations. For additional information, please visit: UofT Discovery Pharmacy Vaccinations and Immunizations, Ontario Vaccines and Immunization, City of Toronto Immunization, and Peel Region Vaccinations. If you have any specific concerns, talk to your health care provider about treatment options in case you get sick.
Continue to follow good hygiene practices such as cough etiquette, handwashing and using hand sanitizer when handwashing is not possible.
